  1. First of all, I want to thank everyone for working so hard during this heat wave. I have worked in the plant many a summer so I know how hot it can be.   I just want to make sure you know that it is appreciated.

  1. Please, if you have not done so yet, complete the surveys for the Best Places to Work We really do want your feedback whether it is good or bad.   We would obviously love to be chosen but, more importantly, we want to know what we are doing well and where we need improvement.   Between the paper shortage, multiple price increases in a short period of time, the labor crisis (which makes us appreciate you even more) and our unprecedented growth, these are truly the craziest times we have ever experienced.  We are doing the best we can, but we are aware that we can always improve.

  1. We are having our annual July 4th company lunch tomorrow so don‘t bring your own.

  1. If you have not seen the TVs yet, I am offering to take any VPC associate for the most thrilling ride of your life. I want to take you skydiving.  Several people have taken me up on this offer in the past so ask Phil DeWolfe, Jeff Labelle, Ben Mason, Dylon Mills or Kara Beal about their experience, and then let me know if you would like to join us.  We will be going Sunday, July 11.  It is a very weather sensitive sport so we will be hoping for no clouds or strong winds.

    1. Lastly, we have been so proud of the support you all have shown for the House in the Woods Military Retreat, that I wanted to let you know about their Open House Sunday, August 1, 2-5. If anyone decides to make the three-hour trip, Sleeping Bear Campground and Cabins is nearby and happens to be right up the road from our camp.  We would welcome you to join us at Silver Lake to enjoy the beach and watersports.  There are also abundant ATV trails in the area if you want to explore Maine’s Northwoods.  So, consider making a weekend of it!
