This came to me by email from a new customer -
Hi Derek,
I just ordered the boxes for our client with Cindy – and I have to tell you she’s quite possibly the nicest
CSR I’ve worked with in years! Very pleasant to deal with, and very helpful in offering solutions.
All the testimonials I’ve read over the years are true – your CSR’s really are the best!
Thanks! Janice

Congratulations to Sales Rep Frank Crossman and Designer Kevin Shea for winning the 2010 2nd Quarter “Associate of the Quarter” award. Frank and Kevin worked tirelessly to bring back a major piece of busness that was previously with a competitor. They refused to give up and eventually were successful in securing the business here in New England as well as at a Florida location. GREAT JOB, GUYS!!

Today we are all celebrating as the company and Mike Allen celebrate a 30 year relationship. Mike has worked at just about every job in the plant and at 52 years old has spent 58% of his life working with the people of Volk Packaging. We are honored and blessed to be able to have such a dedicated and long standing associate. Next month we will be having our annual 5 Year Club party where we will honor Mike for his accomplishment as well as 3 others, Sue Ruel, Barbie Poitras and Paul Voccia, celebrating 25 years! That is over 100 years of service from only 4 people.

It has been a full 7 months since we launched our new Maine Box Factory and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Our sales as compared to 2009 have more than doubled over the January to July time frame and we have added literally hundreds of customers to our stock box and packaging supply program. By being able to offer a huge selection of stock boxes, tape, stretch wrap, polybags, mailers and over 10,000 different packaging supplies we have been able to service our customers with many more of their packaging needs. That is a win-win!

The Volk Packaging Box Blog officially begins today with some thoughts about our new website and the internet. It has been 15 years since I went into my father’s office and suggested we get emails and a website. His response, still a classic line, “The internet? Isn’t that for shut-ins?” Today the internet has become a daily part of life that many of us cannot imagine living without. We have our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn connections on our cells are ready to be updated at a moments notice. We have our email and our YouTube and, of course, our ESPN.com to get all the latest scores. Well, now, 15 years from that funny comment, the Volk Packaging website has been completely overhauled and we even have a Blog. While I am not sure who is going to read my Box Blog or how interesting it will be, I know it will surely soon become a part of my regular routine of getting on-line and living my life. I hope you enjoy it.
