Volk Packaging is proud to, once again, award $500 scholarships to the children of VPC associates seeking higher education degrees. Today’s featured student is Kaycee Slick, daughter of Kelli Tix.
Kaycee is going to begin her freshman year at the University of Southern Maine to study Studio Art with the long-term plan to be a high school art teacher. She is already an accomplished artist having won the Old Orchard Beach Historic Society Award for Art.
Good luck in college, Kaycee!!

Marissa will be starting her senior year of college in September at the University of Southern Maine. She is majoring in Business Administration with a 3.468 GPA.

VPC’s sales rep, Russell Schmelzer, had the honor of attending the wedding of his son and new daughter-in-law this past weekend. Congratulations to the Schmelzers!

Kyle graduated from Natick High School in Natick, MA in June with a 3.36 GPA. He will be attending Framingham State University in September majoring in Business Management with a focus on Sports Management. A two-sport varsity athlete in high school Kyle will be trying out for the baseball team in college but is also getting a lot of attention from the football coach.

Russel graduated in June from Sacopee Valley High School and is headed north . . . way north. Russel will be attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle to study Criminal Justice. Although his parents will not be excited to have Russel so far away they are happy he will be near his sister who is a teacher in the area.
Russel is a regular at the Red Cross where he donates blood.

Kim is beginning her senior year of college but she is only half way done her degree program. She will be entering the fourth year of a six year degree in Pharmacy at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Kim has done a great job in an extremely challenging program and has earned herself some excellent internships in the process.
Hang in there, Kimberly, pretty soon you’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Inspired by the TV show CSI, Krista will be starting her sophomore year at Emmanuel College in Boston in pursuit of a degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Forensic Science. She completed her freshman year with a GPA of 3.95 while performing in several college dance groups. She declined to comment of whether she got any of her dance skills from her dad. 🙂

Kristina is a recent graduate of Massabesic High School finishing with a 93.06 average. She is off to Southern Maine Community College in the fall to pursue a degree in Business Administration. Her long term plan is to transfer to the University of Southern Maine for her Bachelor’s degree.
We will wish you a great start, Kristina!
Volk Packaging is proud to, once again, award $500 scholarships to the children of VPC associates seeking higher education degrees. Today’s featured student is Jacob LaFlamme, son of Judy LaFlamme.
Jacob will soon begin his second year at Maine Maritime Academy. It is was not easy to get through the challenging freshman year at Maine Maritime where 1/3 of his class dropped out before the school year ended. Jacob stuck with it and finished with a 3.5 GPA while also playing for the lacrosse team. He is spending his summer roofing and running races with the VPC Race Team.
