1967 - Ben Volk breaks ground
to create Volk Packaging
|
 Volk Packaging Corporation,
established in 1967 by Benjamin Volk (1910-1996) and his son, Kenneth, was the first
tenant in the new Biddeford Industrial Park off Route One in Biddeford, Maine. Kenneth
Volk, Chief Executive Officer, and his brother, Douglas A. Volk, President and Chief
Operating Officer now run the thirty-three year old corrugated sheet plant. Ken's son,
Derek, serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at this third generation family
business. In the past thirty years the Volk family has worked hard to live up to the words
of Ben Volk's motto, "Our Customers are Our Bread and Butter."
Volk Packaging designs,
manufactures and distributes high quality corrugated products including shipping
containers, inner packaging, and point-of-purchase displays throughout New England. Volk
markets its goods to customers in a diverse range of businesses including electronics,
technology markets, food and beverage industries, printing, woodworking, etc. Volk has
dedicated itself to establishing strong relationships with its many customers who have
come to view Volk as a strategic business partner. Today, Volk Packaging
Corporation is one of the largest independent corrugated box manufacturers in New
England.
Newcorr Packaging, a sheet feeder owned by Volk
Packaging, is one of the only sheet feeders on the east coast with 2
corrugators. This access to sheets allows Volk Packaging to provide what the
big paper companies cannot, a consistent level of service throughout the year
with no delays because the "big" customer is tying up the only
machine.

Volk, with its work force of well over 100, has
recently moved to their new, vast 140,000 square foot facility on 13 acres in the
Biddeford Industrial Park. The Sales Team has doubled and now stands at 10 dedicated
Packaging Consultants servicing Volk's customers beyond all expectations. The Design
Department has a fantastic new space to create the best in corrugated packaging and
presentation. And lastly, and maybe most importantly, Production has added four new pieces
of machinery since 2004 rocketing Volk's capabilities into the 21st century!! All of
this combines to enhance a company with an impressive track record that is ready to meet
the many needs of its customers.
